Arthritis Fibromyalgia and Coconut Oil

Book The new arthritis cureDr. Bruce Fife explores in depth the research about how Arthritis and Fibromyalgia are related to infections in the mouth and body and how Coconut Oil may help in his book “The New Arthritis Cure – Eliminate Arthritis and Fibromyalgia Pain Permanently”.

His book is referenced to a plethora of medical journals and other sources.

Connection between bacteria and infection in the mouth and Arthritis and Fibromyalgia

There are around 10 billion bacteria which are made up by 600 different species, as well as viruses and fungi which live in the mouth. These not only can cause problems to our teeth and gums but also can affect the health of the rest of our body, since they travel through the blood stream.

Dr. Fife quotes several of Dr. Weston Price‘s studies about the connection between infected teeth and arthritis and other diseases. Dr. Price implanted extracted teeth under the skin of rabbits which then developed the same disease the ‘previous owner’ had, or, no disease, if the tooth was steril.

The information in regards to root canals was a real eye opener.

Dr. Fife shares a lot of stories how the health returned when the oral health was restored.

Is arthrtis only a disease of the elderly?

No. There are several example in Dr. Fife’s book that show that arthritis can affect people at any age. ‘A 2 month old girl developed arthritis in her left hip and several other joints after she had received antibiotics for diarrhea and then developed candida.’ (page 31)

Coconut Oil – Why and how it may be of Benefit

Since many micro-organisms that are associated with arthritis are destroyed by medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) consuming coconut oil, which is rich in MCFAs, could be very useful for relieving the symptoms of arthritis.

Dr. Fife relates a lot of stories how the health returned when the oral health was restored and/or when people added coconut oil to their diet.

When people have included coconut oil in their diet/replaced all oil with coconut oil and/or added oil pulling to their daily regime, they lost weight and their health has improved.

Dr. R. L. Meliodon, DC who suffered from Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia for 6 years regained his energy due to a 70% decrease of pain and was able to work for 12 hours (instead of 8 hours) (page 94)

One of the Chapters in the book is called “Lighten the load” which looks at how weight adds to the problem of arthritis.

Dr. Fife’s readers have reported back to him stories about the relief they got from arthritis from using coconut oil and some of them lost 15 to 55 pounds.

Possible Cleansing reactions could include flu, body aches, rashes, nausea, fatigue. This is part of the process of the release of toxins and evidence of the effectiveness. The reactions can last a few day and sometimes weeks and there can be more than one. Arthritis may intensify as result of the cleansing process. (page 155)

“Coconut oil can be helpful in relieving the pain of arthritis and fibromyalgia, however, it should not be considered a complete cure unlesss it removes the source of the infection. In most cases, that source will be in the mouth. Simply eating the oil is not enough to kill oral infection. Good oral hygiene combined with oil pulling, will pull infection out of the mouth. Taking coconut oil internally will rid it from the body. These steps, plus the other five steps in the Arthritis Battle Plan should be taken for complete success.

Even after joint pain has gone, incorporating coconut oil into your daily diet is an excellent way to stay healthy. If you are fighting an active infection, I recommend taking 3 to 4 tablespoons a day. Once the infection is under control, a good maintenance dose is 1 to 3 tablespoons daily.” (page 94)

As well lots of references to research papers the book also contains lots of people’s stories as well as a 7 day whole food challenge, inflammation busters, a chapter on exercise, an arthritis battle plan and much, much more information related to other diseases.
The chapter “Nature’s Antibiotics” contains lots of stories about how Coconut oil has helped people with various diseases including full blown AIDS.

  2. Yorinda,

I have been drinking coconut milk for quite awhile now and my body has been feeling quite good. Don’t know if coconut milk has as much of the oil as getting coconut oil but I will get that also and test it out.

Thanks for explaining the value of coconut oil. For years, it was seen as too fattening and an oil to be avoided – and now it is proclaimed as a miracle oil for certain ailment.s

Thanks for sharing Dr. Bruce Fife’s book “The New Arthritis Cure – Eliminate Arthritis and Fibromyalgia Pain Permanently.” I’m a true fan of coconut oil. I love coconuts and it is one of my favorite fragrances.

The book discusses how coconut cures arthritis and fibromyalgia pain. Coconut also contributes to many other uses as noted in your post. It is truly an incredible food and deserves the label of being a miracle cure for many ailments. The oil is great for cooking and it’s wonderful for rashes too. I always have coconut oil on hand.

This is valuable information. I’m glad I stopped by!

Hi Yorinda, I am noticing this is becoming more widely known as accepted as here in the UK, even in your normal every day grocery stores you can quite often find coconut oil..it comes in a big tub of white paste (well it looks like that!) I am yet to buy some – but have memories of my mum putting coconut oil in my hair as it is good for hair too… LOL – thanks for sharing this! x

Sorry about that but I must say… you surprise me every time I come to read one of your very informative post.

I shared the Oil Pulling info with many people and many other info about Coconut Oil… AND I start to use it my self MUCH, MUCH more often than before.. actually two days a go went shopping and bought another large jar.

Now you come up with this huge information that combining Coconut Oil and Oil Pulling not only is healthy.. but we also can release the unwanted fat (I rather say it like this :-).. wow, this is sure a HUGE surprise and cannot wait to use it because I have been accumulating a few extra inches around my waist and love to go back to my normal size soon…

THANKS so much for keeping us informed on such very important health matters Yorinda..

  10. This is really good information, Yorinda. My chiropractor has just discovered that I have a very mild case of osteoarthritis. I wasn’t feeling any pain at all, just stiffness on my neck. I would do anything to prevent further degeneration. Your post came in very timely. Thanks, Yorinda. I will go ahead and check out the book.

  11. Thanks for sharing this valuable information, Yorinda! I had no idea how powerful coconut oil can be, although I have previously posted about its benefits for Alzheimer’s disease (http://alanjenkin.com/myblog/coconut-oil-touted-alzheimers-remedy/).

We use the virgin cold-pressed oil – it turns out there is a lot of variation in the quality of coconut oils. I’m sad that the coconut trees on our Roatan property all died: we have planted new ones, but they are very slow to reach the fruiting stage 😦 So now we buy our product commercially.

  13. Hi Yorinda, I have heard so many stories from people about how specific nutrition benefits in serious “dis eases” like these. I have a story of my own, which took away my severe arthritic pain 13 years ago – exercise has played a huge part also, but it’s difficult for people to exercise until they have some relief from the inflammation. I hope that people who are looking for relief, will take notice of your article and try out the coconut oil. Thanks for sharing!

  14. I’ve heard of Dr. Weston Price before, but not Dr. Bruce Fife. This all sounds fascinating! Recently I’ve begun to learn the vital importance of brain health, and how much the brain affects the heart and all the other organs. So very much to learn and so much to implement as we can!

  19. Hi Yorinda,

Awww… I must admit you shared an interesting post here. Asians believe that drinking coconut water or even taking any food with coconut as ingredients in there is not good for the stomach. It also won’t help to expel wind but add more instead. However, recently, I have heard about the benefits of coconut for our health and am yet to explore more.

Glad that I stop by your blog today to learn so much info about coconut oil and its benefits to many diseases. May I also ask if it is good to use coconut oil for cooking ? Another question…how do we consume coconut oil apart from food ?

Thanks and I look forward to learn more about coconut oil.

    Cheers

Yes, you can cook with coconut oil.
I like eating coconut (the organic, virgin) oil straight from the jar. It is solid below 24 degrees celsius.

  20. Yorinda, I really appreciate your articles that urge us to use simple methods to encourage our body to heal itself. I love coconut oil. I fry my eggs in it, oil pull with it, bake with it and even fry chicken in it and it tastes so yummy. It’s flavor is so much better than olive oil or some other kind, and like you say soooo good for us.
    Bless you!
