My name is Yorinda WannerYorinda Wanner

In 2010 I became a certified Coach thanks to Barbara Silva and her Coaching Cognition Training.

Other skills I have is in the field computer and website/blogging.
My passion is helping people get through technical challenges by passing on what I have learned.

On my journey to becoming a happier person I came across Affirmations.

When my first son was about 2 years old I realized that I was doing and saying things like my mother – and not those lovely things and words – but the ones I had sworn  I would never do.

At the time I was glad to find a positive parenting course which started me on a journey of personal development, which I wasn’t aware of needing until then.

Positive Parenting led me to rebirthing and a lot of other courses, a lot of them on positive attitude.

My hunger for books on self development was the reason for being a regular in the Library and Bookshops. ” Psycho- Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz M.D. , “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy and “Feel the fear and do it anyway” by Susan Jeffers were books I studied a few times in classes and later in classes I facilitated.

I learned about Affirmations, Visualization, Meditation and all of it made sense to me.  I was excited  learning these tools to help myself to feel better and to be more the kind of mother I wanted to be.

Sharing the journey with others was lovely and I developed some friendships which lasted until now.

Since then I read a lot more books and did more courses some of them on an academic level and I have grown lots as person.

In rebirthing I learned affirmations and the suggestion I used was to write the affirmation on column and the response in the other, for example:

I am lovable and wanted…………………..Yeah right

I am lovable and wanted…………………..I am not good enough

and keep doing that until the response is either neutral or positive.

I did lots of these and it helped.

Recently I learned that we can say affirmations in a way that bypasses the doubt in our head by ’softening’ the affirmation by wording it like:

·       I love the thought of …. (being lovable and wanted)

·       More and more am I ….(confident in social situations)

·       I love the idea of …..

·       I love seeing myself…

·       I have decided….

Another way of wording something we want so we are more in the energy of allowing is:

Wouldn’t it be nice if…..

If I find myself being stuck in thoughts of that ‘chatterbox’ I can ask myself

For almost two years I have participated in Laughter Yoga Session.

I am also Certified Laughter Yoga Leader.

My passion is to empower and uplift people.

  1. Thoughts become things. And it takes a while to remove the shackles of the past and to create new thoughts. It seems that you have achieved this Yorinda and your teachings will be passed on. We do have to learn to apply more love in our life and to love what we do.

    Laughter yoga is pretty cool! I was at an Indian festival and they had a short session on this and you couldn’t help but feel different afterwards.

    The library has been a great source of information and joy for me as well 🙂 I am happy to hear that you now seem to following a path that seem to be brining you more happiness and leading you to be more of who you really want to be. – Rob

    You are right self affirmation are great. If anything they make us challenge the things that challenge us on a daily basis- particularly the negative things. I heard a preacher once say, “Doubt your doubts, but never doubt God!” I am sure all of your learning made you a great mom!

  4. HI Yorinda! I am reading the book: ““Feel the Fear and do it Anyway” by Susan Jeffers ..it is AMAZING! The book has helped me develop positive affirmations…and get through things that would normally freak me out. Being kind to yourself and listening your inner positive self is a power we all forget to use. Thoughts can make or break you…so keep them HAPPY! Thank you for your post!


  5. Hi Yorinda,
    It was nice reading about you and how you came to the path of positive thinking… I read some of the same books and they helped me as well to really shift how I think. When I have a negative thought I just shift it immediately. It took a while to do that, but I have now trained myself to turn off the negative self-talk. I still have my moments, but I no longer dwell in the negative. Thank you for sharing I appreciate it..
